Asendia UK Secures Silver EcoVadis Sustainability Rating

We proudly announce that Asendia UK has been awarded the Silver EcoVadis Medal in May 2024, marking our second annual submission to the renowned sustainability rating platform.

Our journey to sustainability has seen a remarkable year-on-year improvement. We moved from the 76th to the 89th percentile, just four points shy of securing a Gold award.

EcoVadis, a globally trusted sustainability assessment platform, rigorously evaluates companies across various industries based on their environmental, social, and ethical performance.

The rating also places Asendia UK within EcoVadis' 'advanced' sustainability performance category, highlighting its structured and proactive approach to sustainability, characterised by policies, tangible actions, and detailed implementation strategies across sustainability, environment, social and ethical work. This puts us among the top 15% of the 130,000+ companies evaluated by EcoVadis worldwide.

"Asendia UK is honoured to receive the Silver EcoVadis Medal," said Amy Collins, Marketing Director, Asendia UK and Head of Asendia Global CSR Engagement. "This recognition is a testament to our steadfast commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility. We remain dedicated to fostering positive environmental and social impacts while delivering exceptional service to our customers."

“We are pleased for Asendia that it has again achieved the Silver EcoVadis award from the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. It is imperative that all businesses strive to operate ethically and sustainably and are committed to continual improvement.” Nick Fraser, Carrier Development Manager, Whistl.

This achievement aligns with Asendia’s broader global sustainability strategy, which encompasses initiatives to minimise carbon emissions, optimise resource usage, and promote ethical business conduct throughout its operations. This includes joining the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), which will guide us in setting and monitoring measurable targets to reduce our carbon emissions, including those caused by our transport suppliers.

By entering the SBTi process, we commit to submitting concrete and measurable science-based carbon reduction targets before the end of 2024 and will consequently be officially listed as “committed” in the SBTi dashboard by the end of 2024.

Asendia UK remains steadfast in its mission to drive positive change within the industry while delivering value to stakeholders and contributing to a more sustainable future.
