Mail

Sending mail to Switzerland from the UK couldn't be easier. Granted, there are a few restrictions when it comes to food, drink, and toiletries, but sending ordinary business or promotional mail is a straightforward affair. Since Swiss Post is our parent company, we are the experts when it comes to letter postage to Switzerland from the UK.

What are the different mailing options?

When posting letters to Switzerland, you should select the option that suits your budget and required delivery date.

For standard postage, you can send economy class letters ranging from 25 x 17.6 cm (2cm thickness), 35.3 x 25 cm (2cm thickness), to maxi letters up to 90cm.

For faster delivery, you can select the priority letter option – the same dimensions as standard economy class letters apply here. If you have urgent documents up to 2kg, you can rely on our packet service to Switzerland.

Need your mail tracked and signed for? No problem; with us, you can receive prompt alerts about the status of your postage.

How long will it take for my mail to get to Switzerland?

Depending on the service you've selected, and whether you've correctly filled out your customs declaration or waybill (a waybill ensures timely, accurate and secure delivery), your letters should reach Switzerland fairly quickly.

On average, most reliable couriers should be able to deliver within the following time frames:

Standard delivery: 5-10 days

Track and trace: 3-5 days

Express delivery: 1-2 days

What could affect your postage?

Preparing your Swiss-bound mail shouldn't be too complicated. However, It’s essential to pay attention to the details required on the customs declaration form.

Something which may seem a little quirky to UK senders is the address format – be sure to get it right. When sending letters to Switzerland, you should do the following:

  • Place the apartment or suite number after the street name and on the same line.
  • Zip code is written down before the city name, also on the same line.

Example:

Tödistrasse 7,

8027 Zürich,

SWITZERLAND
